Adult Learning

Opportunities abound for adults to expand their knowledge of Judaism and related topics.

Every week, the rabbis teach classes in Torah (Saturday mornings at 9:30 a.m.), Talmud (Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m.) and Tanakh (Sundays at 9:00 during the religious school year).

Mini University, a four-week series of classes offered every fall and spring, is taught by Temple staff and other scholars or leaders from the community.

The Ryterband Lecture Series, sponsored by Temple Brotherhood, is one of the longest-running lecture series in the country, with 18-20 programs every year featuring speakers from throughout the region and addressing topics of Jewish interest. The Series began in 1951 and was created by parents who sought learning for themselves while their children were in Religious School.

During the year, Temple offers courses in Hebrew for adults.  The classes, at various levels, give members and non-members, Jews and non-Jews opportunities to learn or refresh their knowledge of basic Hebrew or more advanced Modern, Rabbinic or Biblical Hebrew.
