Membership Recognition Shabbat

The Union Prayerbooks fit neatly into our hands!  The organ played!  The choir sang!  Members of 30 years or more, including some who have belonged for 80 years or longer, gathered and worshipped and schmoozed.  Michael Africk, membership committee chair, coordinated the evening and shared memories submitted by members.

Temple Israel is proud of its more than 250 members who have belonged for three decades or longer, ranging from those who are just past 30 themselves and have always belonged to Temple to those who joined as adults more than 30 years ago.  This Sabbath service gave Temple the chance to look backwards, to celebrate Shabbat in the style of 30 or more years ago, and to reconnect.
